During the refurbishment of a residential property, as well as its surrounding outbuildings and grounds, our ProtectaWeb™ solution helped preserve 200-year-old trees bordering the necessary new access road in Wicklow, Ireland.

Our team worked with the appointed contractor Clonlough Contractors to install our tree root projection solution quickly and efficiently. More than 200m² of ProtectaWeb™ was used, successfully reducing the loads imposed on soils and tree roots to prevent undue stress and possible damage from being caused.

Ben Reid, site manager at Clonlough Contractors, said: “ProtectaWeb™ is an excellent solution when it comes to construction projects involving mature tree heritage. We were able to bring forward plans for a new access road without comprising a strong and stable surface, while also doing our bit to maintain environmental stewardship through tree root protection.”

Thetford Woodland Lodges

Thetford Forest is the UK’s largest man-made lowland forest. It’s patchwork of pines, heathland and broadleaves provides the ideal setting for a great day out, and a welcome refuge for a rich variety of animal and plant life. Due to the weight involved, it was clear that the correct selection of ProtectaWeb depth was imperative to the success of the project.
