Wrekin Products Ltd recognises its responsibility to the environment and commits to minimising environmental impacts across our operations and supply chain. This policy applies to all employees, contractors, and supply chain partners, and is guided by the Principles of Responsible Sourcing and the ISO14001 accreditation we hold
We will comply with relevant environmental legislation and will endeavour to stay ahead of proposed legislation by implementing the best practices of the industry whenever this is practical.
We work towards improvement in our environmental performance by the conservation of energy and natural resources reduce on site water use, preventing pollution and the reduction where possible and elimination of emissions and nuisances and waste.
Through this policy we aim to:
- Measure and actively reduce our carbon footprint, through the reduction of GHG emissions across operations and supply chains by improving energy efficiency and supporting low-carbon materials and logistics.
- Support biodiversity conservation within our operational sites and ecological restoration in projects and supply chains.
- Conserve water resources across operations by reducing consumption and preventing pollution.
- Apply circular economy principles, prioritising reuse, refurbishment, recyclability, where possible.
- Collaborate with customers and suppliers to minimise packaging waste through the provision of recyclable and re-useable packaging solutions.
- Eliminate pollution, emissions, and nuisances from our operations wherever possible.
- Demonstrate active governance through maintaining an accredited Environmental Management System: certified to ISO 14001:2015 and use this as a framework for continual improvement.
- Provide information and training to all colleagues to enable them to understand and minimise environmental impacts in their roles.
- Embed environmental and responsible sourcing criteria into supplier selection, audits, and reviews in support of our Responsible Sourcing Policy.
- Set measurable, quantifiable objectives and targets annually and monitor and evaluate performance against these targets to demonstrate continual improvement, reporting our performance openly to stakeholders through our ESG report.
This policy will be reviewed annually to reflect evolving environmental standards, legislation, and stakeholder expectations. In all areas, senior management will take the lead in providing the commitment and focus to empower our business to make the maximum contribution to improving environmental performance
